LATEST NEWS

 ————————————————–

You may have noticed FUTURESantiques.com was “quiet” the last week or two.  Virginia is having unusually pleasant weather, which is allowing me to work on the exterior of our home – maintaining what is good, making improvements where needed or wanted… in other words, giving it “the love”.  Unusually pleasant weather is uncommon here, but I am now back to my usual uploads and commentaries while working on our home.  (For a sample of what I am currently doing, see the photo above!  IN PROGRESS!  NOT FINISHED!!)

Sorry to tease you, but this IS news:  a few days ago I purchased the best of a large collection of “Black Collectibles” – all of which was then immediately SOLD to a single, serious collector.  Sometimes this happens.  People tell me what they want, the condition and rarity they prefer, what they’re willing to pay, and, when I find it, I know what to do for them.  I love helping people with focused goals!

Re: the Milo Baughman furniture:  The two sofas and ottomans, and the desk / dining table SOLD very quickly.  They were a good deal, that’s why.

Re: the Adrian Pearsall furniture:  The end table has SOLD.  The long coffee table is still available.

Arrivalsmany toys and games from the 1920′s to 1960′s are in the “Toys” Gallery on the “Shop” page.  Some are odd, some challenging, and some charming.

+ New old vintage posters including:  Jimi Hendrix, numerous Grateful Dead, George Harrison, Jim Morrison, Op, Psychedelic, Pop, day-glo and flocked, drug related, Peace / Protest, and some horrifyingly awful wonderful back-alley Grade F scorcher fliks.  Find them in the “Posters, Books, Matchbooks, Other Paper, & Autographs” Gallery on the “Shop” page!

+ I recently consigned more Art Glass & Pottery (prices within this new collection range from $135.00 to $11,875.00.), including Czechoslovakian Art Deco, a perfume bottle by Gibson, Paul Kedelv “Coquille”, Tapio Wirkkala, Welz Kralik, a ceramic cup by George Orr, Van Briggle, Weller “Flemish” by Rudolph Lorber, Weller “Cloudburst”, Royal Doulton ceramic, Rosenthal porcelain, Native American pottery, antique Japanese porcelain, Chinese and Venetian works, Steuben, Holmegaard by Per Lutken, Schlevogt, Tiffany, Pairpoint, Lalique, Daum Nancy, Loetz, Galle, and Teco art pottery.  Admire them (in the “Consigned Items” Gallery) when you have a few minutes!

There is much more to come !!

In the black navigation bar at the bottom of this page, you will find a new category: “Splinters” – short thoughts caused by sharp moments.

I continue photographing and posting my backlog of additional Antiques, Design, and Art.  If they lack information, please revisit them in a day or two.  Email me if there is something in which you are especially interested and want an alert as soon as possible.

FUTURES Antiques deals exclusively in the last century – OUR century – of Art, Design, Collectibles, and Cultural Artifacts. Since 1991, I have offered high-style, investment-level furnishings, design, and art; fine mid-range collectibles; profoundly low-class kitsch; and category-defying cultural artifacts.  DAILY changes are made to this site: new items are posted in the “Shop” page galleries and on Facebook, and just-purchased items are moved to the “Sold” gallery.  Also, I rant and ponder Art, Design, business, and Life from my personal trench on my “News & Opinions” and “Archives” pages.  You’re invited to blog-in!

To view the FUTURES INVENTORY COLLECTION:  click the “Shop” button (above, in the black navigation bar). If you want MORE INFORMATION on an item (larger view, history, condition, dimensions, price, etc.) click on its THUMBNAIL photo.

If you have further questions, please ask!  (Also check the “Policies” page).  We all know the Web can be a complicated, sometimes intentionally vague place… especially for unique Antiques, Design, and Art. Rest assured I prefer total transparency AND security for the both of us here at FUTURES Antiques.

Thanks so much for visiting!
